Full Review

Step inside Relish and the massive fieldstone fireplace immediately sets the tone. This is what a Wisconsin supper club should feel like—warm wood tones, comfortable booths, and that particular kind of quiet confidence that comes from knowing exactly what you're doing. For a place that opened in 2024, they've mastered the formula remarkably well.

The bread arrives on its small wooden board, golden and warm, alongside the relish tray that could make a meal on its own. Breadsticks, cheese spreads, pickled vegetables, summer sausage, and deviled eggs spread across the lazy Susan. Watch tables linger over these classics before their mains even arrive.

Order the French onion soup and it comes bubbling in its white glazed crock, the cheese cap golden brown and blistered from the broiler. The walleye piccata lands crispy outside, tender within—no wonder multiple tables order it on any given Friday. The perch and cod hold their own during fish fry, each piece maintaining its crunch even under the weight of expectation.

Steaks arrive from the grill with perfect char marks. The New York strip hits the table exactly as ordered, while the ribeye shows off marbling that melts on the tongue. Even the ribs, glossy with barbecue sauce on their oversized platter, fall cleanly from the bone. The kitchen knows its way around beef.

Behind the bar, they're building amber old fashioneds in faceted rocks glasses. The browned butter version adds depth without overwhelming the bourbon base. Service moves efficiently through the dining room, plates arriving and clearing without fanfare.

Those ice cream drinks deserve their own moment. The flight arrives in its metal carrier—thick concoctions in mini milkshake glasses that make choosing just one impossible. The Pink Squirrel stands out, but the birthday Brandy Alexander shows how this kitchen goes beyond the expected.

At these prices, you're paying for the full experience rather than exceptional value. But when carrot cake calls from the dessert menu and another round of old fashioneds beckons, the math becomes less important. Relish proves that sometimes the newest places understand tradition best.

The Germantown area has gained something special here. Not every new restaurant grasps what makes a supper club work—the rhythm, the rituals, the particular Wisconsin warmth. Relish gets it right from the relish tray to the final ice cream drink. Worth the drive, worth the wait, worth returning.
