Atmosphere
Fredrick’s in Milton feels more neighborhood institution than polished destination. The dining room remains comfortable and familiar, with worn booths and old school finishes.  On Friday nights, the room fills quickly with fish fry regulars. Frederick's isn't flashy. It’s functional.

Old Fashioned
The Old Fashioned does not lead the charge here. Served in a standard rocks glass, the drink leans flat and underpowered. Limited rail options show. Even the Old Fashioned flight — a creative idea — can’t overcome inconsistent execution. Manhattans, on the other hand, arrive stronger and more balanced, suggesting the bar has capability when properly focused.

Starters
French onion soup is the clear standout. Ceramic crocks land on white saucers with a blistered, golden cheese cap stretching from edge to edge. Break through and steam rises from a dark, savory broth beneath. Rich. Properly seasoned. Consistent. This is what the kitchen does best.

Entrees
Prime rib anchors the menu and receives serious attention. Slow-roasted for hours, the thick slabs arrive tender with a rosy interior and a seasoned outer rim. When cut correctly, it delivers that soft, beefy richness prime rib loyalists expect.

Friday fish fry brings strong turnout and steady execution. Cod arrives light and crisp, flaky inside without excess grease. A sampler plate featuring cod, perch, and bluegill passed our table looking properly golden and well-drained — evidence the fryer stays disciplined even during peak hours.

Sides stay simple and mostly forgettable. They fill the plate without adding much personality.

Bottom Line
Fredrick’s succeeds where it matters most to its regulars: French onion soup, slow-roasted prime rib, and a dependable Friday fish fry. Service remains efficient and attentive, even when the dining room is full.  For South Central Wisconsin supper clubbers seeking solid supper club staples without pretense, Fredrick’s continues to earn its following.
